Watercolor painting has always interested Eric Zimmer.

Recently he has returned to its loose simplicity and began experimenting with encaustic which is a heated mixture of beeswax and crystalized tree sap. It was an ancient technique used by Egyptians as far back as the 6th century BC. By adding a layer to the wood mounted watercolor surface, Zimmer creates an object impervious to moisture. The small ‘tiles’ are composed in a grid format, with varied design components, which can be adapted to any space.
